HOLINGER QUALIFIES FOR HEAVY RAIN RISK MANAGEMENT IN BADEN-WÜRTTEMBERG
16.05.2022
HOLINGER AG has successfully participated in a standard reference procedure for mapping heavy rain hazards for the Baden-Württemberg State Institute for the Environment. As a result, HOLINGER AG is now officially qualified to work on heavy rain risk projects in Baden-Württemberg. This certification strengthens our existing competence in the area of heavy rain/surface runoff.
For this project, the main calculations were done in Mike+. A hydrodynamically coupled 1D-2D model was created, which simulates precipitation and uses spatially differentiated surface runoff coefficients to show the resulting runoff behavior in the catchment area. Open and culverted bodies of water were specifically modeled in order to make the hydraulic effects of urban drainage visible and measurable. Various hydraulic parameters were finally processed to create heavy rain hazard maps and also presented in animated form. A wide range of software was used for the project: MIKE+, QGIS, ArcGIS, JANET, NotePad++, DaVinci Resolve and numerous other tools.
